Okay, let me get this out of the way. During almost 45 years of racing and riding dedicated motocross and enduro bikes, this was easily the best handling and performing bike I ever owned. The only downsides - the kickstart was located on the left side and hurt my knee every time I cranked it; parts were really hard to find and when found, expensive.
I traded a hard-starting Husky WR250 for this TE510 and a Bultaco Sherpa. It was a great deal. After a quick renovation (not quite a restoration - but close), I spent a couple of years blasting though the woods on north Florida on this powerful machine. I loved every minute of it. Alas, my left knee was wearing out from repeated injuries and I opted to sell this bike. A collector in California snapped it up. I hated to sell the bike, but it was fun while it lasted. |
